The Battle

The battle is invisible

and it is fierce

Unseen

but real

This fight

affects you

And if your eyes were opened

to the unseen reality

You would fall to your knees

before the God of Angel Armies

You would know that darkness

wants to take you down

You would know that angels

are protectors and fighters

strong and valiant

And you would know that demons

are liars and destroyers

Purveyors of

defeat

stress

division

lies

death

and fear

And know this –

if you have not surrendered to King Jesus,

you WILL lose this fight

You are defenseless without Him

If you DO know Him

and believe Him

Don’t forget your battle gear

Take up your Sword!

the Word of God to combat lies and deception

Take up your shield!

which is your faith in Almighty God

Put on your helmet!

the salvation of your precious soul

Lace up your shoes!

that come with the Peace only He can give

Strap on your belt!

of Truth, lies dispelled

Hold up that shield!

God’s armor of righteousness for you

Don’t underestimate your enemy

or

God’s army

Get in that battle

and hold onto the One who holds victory

for you

– Susie Stewart

We’re not waging war against enemies of flesh and blood alone. No, this fight is against tyrants, against authorities, against supernatural powers and demon princes that slither in the darkness of this world, and against wicked spiritual armies that lurk about in heavenly places.

– Ephesians 6:12 (VOICE)

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

– James 4:7 (NLT)

For though we walk in the world, we do not fight according to this world’s rules of warfare. The weapons of the war we’re fighting are not of this world but are powered by God and effective at tearing down the strongholds erected against His truth.

– 2 Corinthians 10:3,4 (VOICE)

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

– 1 Peter 5:8,9 (NLT)

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

– Ephesians 6:13-17 (NLT)

Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.

– Deuteronomy 3:22 (NIV)

Freedom

I’m thankful, Jesus,

for the physical freedom that is mine

And even more thankful

for my spiritual freedom in You

Remind me often, Jesus,

to live free

not in bondage to anything

You have already loosed

Help me to walk in the wide open space

of You

– Susie Stewart

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

– 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

– Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

In him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

– Ephesians 3:12 (NIV)

But now that you’ve found you don’t have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God’s gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master.

– Romans 6:21-23 (MSG)

When trouble surrounded me, I cried out to the Eternal;
He answered me and brought me to a wide, open space.

– Psalm 118:5 (VOICE)

Heaven Blessing

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

Ephesians 1:3 (NLT)

I underestimate, Lord,

what you have blessed me with

I fail to realize that

out of Your immense love and grace

You have blessed my spirit

from heaven

Everything that can touch

the spiritual part of me

everything that heaven enjoys

is mine here on fallen earth

I try to wrap my head

around that

And I realize

that I’ve not tapped into Your favor

enough

I have not begun to grasp

my spiritual blessings

I have not been filled

to all the fullness

And I long for more

I can never get enough

of You, my Lord

I imagine that is why

everyone surrounds your throne in heaven

shouting “Holy, holy, holy…”

never having enough praise

because the spiritual blessings

are found in You

in who You are

and I am leveled with the fresh thought

that YOU live in my heart

I can’t help but have every spiritual blessing

from heaven

right here on earth

because it is all about You

– Susie Stewart

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

– Ephesians 3:19 (NLT)

The One sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled His throne like a rainbow Twenty-four thrones surrounded Him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God. In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal.

In the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back. The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying,

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—
the One who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”

– Revelation 4:3-8 (NLT)

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

– Revelation 5:11-13 (NIV)

Kind

Kindness

is rooted

in God’s heart

It is tender

and heart-felt

and real

It chooses the soft

when the hard is expected

And only through

His Spirit

can we consistently

breathe kindness

in an unkind world

– Susie Stewart

A kindhearted woman gains honor…

Proverbs 11:16 (NIV)

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

– Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)

Love is patient and kind…

Drop It

What is it you need to drop?

What grips your heart

and hurts you deep?

What stirs ungodly anger

and entitled resentment?

Don’t you know

that holding that thing tight

holds you tight?

It’s talons sink deep into your soul

Open your fist

and let it drop to the ground

then walk away

and don’t pick it up again

Find the freedom

of dropping the heavy

and clinging to God

with open hands

and open heart

– Susie Stewart

Banish bitterness, rage and anger, shouting and slander, and any and all malicious thoughts—these are poison.  Instead, be kind and compassionate. Graciously forgive one another just as God has forgiven you through the Anointed, our Liberating King.

– Ephesians 4:31-32 (VOICE)

I’m not there yet, nor have I become perfect; but I am charging on to gain anything and everything the Anointed One, Jesus, has in store for me—and nothing will stand in my way because He has grabbed me and won’t let me go.  Brothers and sisters, as I said, I know I have not arrived; but there’s one thing I am doing: I’m leaving my old life behind, putting everything on the line for this mission.  I am sprinting toward the only goal that counts: to cross the line, to win the prize, and to hear God’s call to resurrection life found exclusively in Jesus the Anointed.

– Philippians 3:12-14 (VOICE)

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.

– 1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG)

Are You Dead?

Are you dead?

You may be,

and not even know it

Because until you reach out to Jesus

and place your life

into His hands

the Bible says

you are dead

You need His Spirit

living inside of you

to be alive

You will think you are alive

but you are not

You are a shell,

with a soul wanting

So humble yourself

before God Almighty

and accept His beautiful gift

of LIFE

in His Son

May you know

salvation from your sin

light for your heart

and freedom for your aching soul

Trust Jesus

and wake up from death

– Susie Stewart

As Jesus was saying this, the leader of a synagogue came and knelt before Him. “My daughter has just died,” he said, “but you can bring her back to life again if you just come and lay your hand on her.”…

When Jesus arrived at the official’s home, He saw the noisy crowd and heard the funeral music. “Get out!” He told them. “The girl isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at Him. After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up!

– Matthew 9:18-19, 23-25 (NLT)

It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose His temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, He embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on His own, with no help from us! Then He picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.

– Ephesians 2:1-6 (MSG)

God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

– Ephesians 2:4,5 (NLT)

On Purpose

The decisions we make dictate the schedules we keep.  The schedules we keep determine the lives we live.  The lives we live determine how we spend our souls.  So, this isn’t just about finding time.  This is about honoring God with the time we have.

– Lysa Terkeurst

Live life, then, with a due sense of responsibility, not as men who do not know the meaning and purpose of life but as those who do. Make the best use of your time, despite all the difficulties of these days. Don’t be vague but firmly grasp what you know to be the will of God.

– Ephesians 5:15-17 (PHILLIPS)

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.

– Deuteronomy 6:5 (NLT)

Dark to Light

What is your Dark?

What eats at you

grieves you

overwhelms you

discourages you

tears at you?

Bring that dark

and expose it to Light

Lay it down

before He who illuminates

even the deepest black

Bask in the light

of who He is

and the glory of His Words

He can

and He will

bring light

to your Dark

Let Him

be Him

for You

– Susie Stewart

Only words of Light can drive out worlds of dark.
Only deeds of Light can drive out depths of dark.
Only lives of Light can drive out lies of dark.

Darkness can never travel as fast as Light. No matter how bad things get, no matter how black the dark seeps in, no matter the depths of the night — the dark can never travel as fast as Light. The Light is always there first, waiting to shatter the dark.

You can always hold His Word like a ball of light right there your hand, right up there next to your warming heart.

You can always count on it: Jesus is bendable Light, warmth around every unexpected corner.

– Ann Voskamp

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

– John 8:12 (NLT)

A light that thrives in the depths of darkness, blazes through murky bottoms. It cannot and will not be quenched.

– John 1:5 (VOICE)

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!

– Ephesians 5:8 (NLT)

The deepest darkness of all is separation from God because of sin.  You are in need of a savior and He will be that for you.  Accept Him today as the only One able to cleanse you of ALL unrighteousness.  His light will penetrate your darkness and change your life!  Only let Him in.  Humble yourself and accept His free gift of salvation.   ~Susie

Cling

To grasp ahold of another

with vows sacred

To cling to my love

through joys and trials

To not let go

Is the picture You use, Lord,

for Your bride with You

Intimacy real

and fierce

Holding value

remaining true

A grasp so tight

a treasure so rare

As firm as that grip is with him

my embrace with You more

I cling to You my groom, Jesus,

Forever

– Susie Stewart

I cling to You;
Your strong right hand holds me securely.

– Psalm 63:8 (NLT)

For your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is His name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth.

– Ephesians 54:5 (NLT)

Revere the Lord your God, serve Him, cling to Him, swear by His name alone!

– Deuteronomy 10:20 (CEB)

…cling tightly to the Lord your God as you have done until now.

– Joshua 23:8 (NLT)

Husbands, you must love your wives so deeply, purely, and sacrificially that we can understand it only when we compare it to the love the Anointed One has for His bride, the church. We know He gave Himself up completely to make her His own, washing her clean of all her impurity with water and the powerful presence of His word.

– Ephesians 5:24-26 (VOICE)

Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. He held fast to the Lord and did not stop following Him; he kept the commands the Lord had given Moses. And the Lord was with him; he was successful in whatever he undertook.

– 2 Kings 18:5-7 (NIV)

Men ought to give their wives the love they naturally have for their own bodies. The love a man gives his wife is the extending of his love for himself to enfold her. Nobody ever hates or neglects his own body; he feeds and looks after it. And that is what Christ does for His body, the Church. And we are all members of that body, we are His flesh and blood! ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’. The marriage relationship is doubtless a great mystery, but I am speaking of something deeper still—the marriage of Christ and his Church. In practice what I have said amounts to this: let every one of you who is a husband love his wife as he loves himself; let the wife reverence her husband.

– Ephesians 5:30-32 (PHILLIPS)

Let us be glad and rejoice,
and let us give honor to Him.
For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb,
and His bride has prepared herself.
She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.”
For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people.
And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.”

– Revelation 19:7-9 (NLT)

…for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

– Ephesians 5:14 (NLT)

But God is rich in mercy because of his great love for us.  We were dead because of our failures, but He made us alive together with Christ. (It is God’s kindness that saved you.)

– Ephesians 2:4,5 (GW)

When we were baptized into His death, we were placed into the tomb with Him. As Christ was brought back from death to life by the glorious power of the Father, so we, too, should live a new kind of life.

– Romans 6:4 (GW)
