Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
– Proverbs 4:25,26 (NIV)
Looking straight ahead
fixing my gaze directly before me
means decidedly ignoring distractions
means not being dissuaded from the path
the Lord has laid out for me
no matter what tempts me
to veer off
Eyes and heart
set determinedly forward
and straight on,
for this deliberate path
is one of reward
of joy
of the few

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
– Matthew 7:13,14 (NIV)
A highway will be there, a roadway. It will be called the Holy Road. Sinners won’t travel on it. It will be for those who walk on it. Godless fools won’t wander onto it.
– Isaiah 35:8 (GW)
